Luis Renteria (Guadalajara, Mexico, 1991) is a multidisciplinary artist trained in cinematography, with a focus on animated film. He lives and works between Barcelona, Spain, and Guadalajara, Mexico. He studied Textile Art at the Massana School and holds a Master’s degree in Research and Artistic Production from the University of Barcelona.

In his practice, he employs traditional techniques and references to popular art to explore socially relevant issues through fiction and fantasy.

He has received grants from PECDA Jalisco (2021 and 2025), FONCA Young Creators (2022), and FOCINE (2022–2025) from the Mexican Institute of Cinematography. He has been a resident at Hørvævsmuseet (The Flax Linen Museum) in Denmark (2023), Fabra i Coats in Barcelona (2024), and AIR Green in Norway (2025). His work has been shown in national and international exhibitions, including the 2023 FAD Art Awards at Disseny Hub Barcelona.
