About

Tony Solis attended the Autonomous University of Nuevo León and holds a Bachelor's Degree in Visual Arts with a major in Audiovisual Production. He is a renowned photographer, who lives and works in Mexico City since 2006.
Currently, Solis is the founder and director of Y- NOT MAG and, from 2011 to 2015, he was the founder and director of PÁNICO and GXXRL, two of his most outstanding editorial projects. He held the position of editor at NYLON México for 4 years.
Solis has collaborated with several magazines, both Mexican and international, like: ELLE, NYLON, WAD, VICE, Código, Picnic, Gatopardo, Quo, 192, Animal, Celeste, Baby Baby Baby, i-D México, Hyper Animals, The Beauty Effect, Marie Claire, Paper City Mag, amongst others. 
Furthermore, he is an active and key member of the contemporary art scene. He is represented by Galería Enrique Guerrero (México) and Guerrero Projects (USA) and his work has been exhibited at the most relevant art fairs around the globe. In Zona Maco, 2012, Solis was awarded the Purifiación García Latin American Photographer Prize.
In March 2015, he showed his third solo exhibition "La marcha de los gatitos apachurrados", inspired by "Mitchirineko", a Japanese animation, and by the music of Tom Waits, Leonard Cohen, and Johnny Cash. In 2016, Solis presented his first fashion film for Y-NOT MAG, which he directed and musicalized.
He is also the founder of Pequeños Bribones, an art gallery that promotes the work of up and coming artists, and of SAMPLE, an audiovisual festival that celebrated its first edition in August 2016. This festival hosted a selection of fashion films, short films, and experimental videos, all related with art, music, and fashion.
In 2017, Solis presented for a second time "La marcha de los gatitos apachurrados" in Guerrero Projects (Houston, Texas).
In 2018 presented "Love is not a Victory March", in Galería Enrique Guerrero (México City).
