Pesadilla Vegana shows the advertisements of Mexico City’s tianguis and street food stalls, which usually feature animal-based dishes. In the illustration, these stalls are surrounded by realistic drawings of the animals used to make the food: lamb for barbacoa, chickens for caldo, and pigs for carnitas. The work plays with the tension between culinary tradition and the reality of its sources.
